Competition
The CAST technology award is looking for business ideas commercialising new inventions, processings and scientific results from all fields of technology. It awards those ideas, which do have the biggest chance to successful economic performance. The next run starts September 20th, 2010. Ideas can be submitted until October 17th, 2010, 11:59 pm (last submission date)!
Target group
You are eligible to participate in the CASTTechnology Award 2009 if you are a researching or working at one of the following institutions:
- University Innsbruck
- Medical University Innsbruck
- UMIT, The Health and Life Science University
- MCI, Management Center Innsbruck
- FH Kufstein Tirol, University of Applied Sciences
- IQOQI, Institute für Quantum Optics and Quantum Information
- TKFI, Tyrolean Cancer Research Institute
- IBA, Institute for Biomedical Aging Research

Easy participation
You can download the potential paper for submission for the CAST Technology Award 2009 from here. To complete your application, please supply the following documents:
- Potential paper = applicant information + detailed description of the research results´ commercial potential
- Scientific paper, draft or publication with 20 pages maximum and two years old at the most (if available); for more detailed description of the underlying invention, technology or research result

Prize money
Prize-winners chosen by our jurors will be awarded the following prize money:
- 1st place: EUR 3.000,--
- 2nd place: EUR 1.500,--
- 3rd place: EUR 800,--
Places 4 and 5 are additionally awarded with EUR 500,-- each.
Confidentiality
Any documents submitted will be treated confidentially. All persons involved in the CAST Awards, most notably CAST employees and jurors, must sign confidentiality agreements to protect the intellectual property of the participants. Disclosure of any relevant inventions for the purposes of an instruction to reproduce results is not a participation requirement.
